Competition at Faith & Firearms League is designed to challenge your skill, sharpen your focus, and build real confidence in a structured, supportive environment.

Whether you're newer to practical shooting or refining advanced skills, our events are built around safety, consistency, and steady growth.

Below you’ll find everything you need to know about our Course of Fire, Range Rules, and League Rules so you can show up prepared and ready to compete.

Firearms Requirement

Revolvers: .38 Special, .357 Magnum, and larger

Semi-automatics: 380 Auto, 9mm Parabellum and larger

Barrel lengths and extensions exceeding 6.02 inches are prohibited

Both Iron Sights and Optics are allowed in this League


No reload ammo allowed

It is strongly encouraged that competitors use the same firearm they use for everyday carry

Range Safety Rules

All shooters are expected to follow FrogBones' range safety policies. Key rules include:

• Eye and ear protection required at all times inside the range facility

• No food, drinks, tobacco, or alcohol on the range

• All firearms must remain pointed downrange and be cleared when not actively firing

• No firearms outside the lane booth — all must be bagged or cased before leaving the firing area

• All ammunition must be screened and approved by range staff (no reloads, no steel, no armor-piercing)

• Shooters under 18 must be supervised by a legal guardian at all times

• Only one person in the firing area per lane at a time

• Safe firearm handling is required — unsafe behavior will result in removal from the range

League Standards

Eligibility

Minimum age is 18 years old, unless a parent or legal guardian is also on the team

Team Structure

Teams consist of 4–5 shooters

The team’s three (3) highest scores count toward the match total

Rosters may be amended until the end of the match

Match Rotations

Shooters compete in rotations

One shooter per team fires per rotation

Rotations continue until up to five (5) shooters have competed

Shooters may not compete in more than one rotation per match (except in tie-breakers)

Forfeits

Competing with fewer than three (3) shooters constitutes a forfeit

The forfeiting team receives the greater of:

100 points, or their cumulative shooter total

The opposing team must still complete the match

Scoring

“Best Case” scoring using IDPA practice targets

Perfect score: 100

Each shot off paper or not fired: -4 points

One (1) alibi per shooter per match

Only the shooter’s name may be written on the target

All scoring decisions by league staff are final

No protests permitted

Tie Breakers

Each team designates one shooter

Six (6) rounds from the longest match distance within 15 seconds

Additional shooters rotate until tie is broken

Playoffs & Seeding

Shooters must participate in at least four (4) matches to qualify for playoffs

Seeding determined by regular season standings

Ties broken by total season points

Top four (4) teams advance to playoffs
